At Earnshaw Mattock & Associates we spend time putting back into the community. Not only are our staff on committees of non profit organisations, but we organise events throughout the year to raise funds. Each year we choose a local community group as our main beneficiary.
In 2003 we raised $2000 which was split between 4 of the local Hills Fire Brigades.
In 2004 we again raised $2000 which went towards the Hills Community Support Group.
In 2005 we achieved our set target of $2,500 for the Mundaring Arts Centre.
Our target was achieved due in part to the final fundraiser which was a Movie Night held at the Kookaburra Cinema, Mundaring on Wednesday 18th January 2006. The Movie was Charlie & The Chocolate Factory which 219 people attended, thereby helping us achieve our goal. A big thank you to all who came along bringing picnics to share with their families, buying raffle tickets and generally entering into the spirit of the occasion, as without this show of community support we would not have reached the target. Thanks to your generosity, the Mundaring Arts Centre is the winner.
In 2006 we raised $2700 for The Individuals' Charity.
In 2007 we raised $2500 for The Individual's Charity.
In 2008 we are again supporting The Individual's Charity with our goal to offer them over $3000. We are well on the way with close to $2000 raised from the sale of advertising in our property catalogue - which I thank our local businesses for getting involved in. The Individual's Charity is a locally run organisation helping people in the community with special needs and we are proud to be associated with them.

Charity helps Kym breathe easy
Kym Bartholomew resides in the Ellenbrook area and has numerous health issues among them diabetes, organ failure, sleep apnea and has also suffered several strokes recently. This has put a huge stress on Kym's heart and adds a variety of concerns for Kym's wife who is his full time carer. Kym applied to The Individual's Charity for assistance with sleep therapy using continuous positive airways pressure therapy. Until now Kym has often stopped breathing in his sleep, this has sometimes been up to several times per night.
The Individual's Charity assistance involved providing a personalised sleep mask which places positive pressure into the lungs to ensure continued breathing. There is currently no Medicare funding for this equipment and The Individual's Charity and Earnshaw Mattock & Associates Real Estate Agents together have assisted by purchasing the required equipment for Kym. Earnshaw Mattock & Associates Glen Forrest office have generously donated the funds required to purchase the mask for Kym.
The Individual's Charity has assisted many people within our local community. To visit The Individual's Charity website, see www.tic.org.au to discover more about how the charity has helped people who could not obtain that help from the current avenues available. Maryanne Phillips from The Individual's Charity said they would love to hear from people or businesses who are interested in supporting us through membership or sponsorship. "This can range from being a financial member - as little as $60 per year (tax deductible) or to providing support similar to that of Earnshaw Mattock," Mary-anne said. The Individual's Charity does provide sponsors with the knowledge that all of their funds or charity dollars are allocated to the person in need and are not utilised in admin or overhead costs.
We have also been involved in single day fundraisers including:
- Telethon Speech and Hearing Centre’s "Loud Shirt Day"... we raised $133 at this event.
- The Cancer Foundations “Fun Hat Friday”.. we raised $147 for this cause.
- The Cancer Foundation "Daffodil Day"..... we raised $94 (from our office staff alone).
- The Cancer Foundation "Pink Ribbon Day" ... we raised $234 (within the office and we all wore Pink Ribbon T-shirts!).
- Childrens Medical Research Institute "Jeans for Genes Day" ... we raised $128 for this event.
- Red Nose Day...we raised $160 for this event.
If you would like to make a donation at any of our events or for our 2008 recipient - The Individuals' Charity - simply send us an email for our direct credit details or call into either of our offices and drop some coins into the tins provided. Every little bit helps and the local community will thank you for it!
